A key addition is De’Andre Hunter, who despite having played only 16 postseason games, possesses a valuable skill set of shooting and defense that suits the rigors of the playoffs well. This year, however, his number of three-point attempts has surged to nearly double those inside (247 vs.101), contributing to an increase in effective field goal percentage from 56.3% to an impressive 61.6%. The value derived from improved shot selection cannot be overstated.
The advanced metrics suggest that while Hunter performs decently overall—his steal rate being low at just one every36 minutes and blocks even lower—the Cavaliers' roster featuring Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley should minimize these concerns while amplifying his defensive strengths against larger wing players during crucial matchups given his height advantage over others like LeVert or Max Strus.
Cleveland managed minimal costs concerning draft assets for this deal without incurring luxury tax penalties by swapping picks wisely; it seems unlikely they will need swap rights for future years unless Atlanta significantly underperforms relative its own expectations which could mitigate any potential risks involved here.
The real risk lies within salary commitments down-the-line—as contracts extend towards high figures once extensions kick-in post-next couple seasons when both Mitchell & Mobley see raises around same timeframe leading them above current projected cap limits requiring careful management throughout upcoming campaigns ahead if maximizing depth remains priority.
